A Give Away

I am giving away a necklace in the month of September to a customer or anyone who sends me a post card with their address on it. Sooooo I have been making necklaces trying to find one that I can do that with. I told humans it would be made from silver but I really like how this copper one turned out. Maybe I will give them a choice? Back to the drawing board to make more.

My client's are amazing people. Many have become friends and their warmth and friendship as well as their immense creativity makes me happy to wake up every morning and get to work. In trying to think of a way to repay them I thought of making a necklace out of the best labradorite I have and giving it away.
Just send me a post card by midnight Sept 30 2008 with your mailing address on it to Szarka PO Box 1410 San Marcos Texas 78667 and I will throw it into the box with the names, or head into the bead store and make an order and I will put your name in the box from your invoice. We will choose the winner the first week of October and announce the winner by October 15th 2008 in the newsletter. I will be making more pieces so the winner can choose whatever piece they would like to have.

This is a Larimar cabochon I had and asked Rick Copeland to do his magic to the piece. I then added the necklace. The larimar is exceptional. The blue glow is amazing.

Crystal Skull Pieces.

These crystal skulls are just luscious and they are double drilled which makes them fun to work with. They can be wired to sit in any direction you want. It is so hard to get a good picture of high quality quartz because, well, it's invisible!! Nice sparkle and exceptional hand carved faces.

Ask Szarka?

I am starting a new feature on my blog answering questions people send me that are jewelry related. Well no one really asks me my opinion on anything else so I guess it is kind of pointless to point out the fact that the questions are jewelry related.

Why anyone would ask me is beyond me. I am definitely not the ultimate authority by any means. I do not have a business degree, nor have I been trained in an art school. I have never even taken a jewelry making class. Basically it appears I know very little. The good thing is I appear to be very opinionated for no known reason so I do have lots to write about.

So if you want one little humans take on the questions that other jewelry artists ask stop on in from time to time. Send questions you would like me to answer to I will change your wording and your name to keep every one's privacy. If I don't have the answer I bet I know someone who thinks they do. I will ask them what they think and post the answers here. I won't hide their identities though .
I moved these posts to another blog that is just for questions come on over to take a peek.
